What is Interlibrary Loan, and how do I use it?

Interlibrary loan (ILLiad) is a service provided by FVRL that allows us to borrow materials we do not own from other library systems in the US. FVRL library card holders in good standing who either are residents of the district, pay taxes to the district, or purchase a non-resident borrower's card may request items through interlibrary loan.

Read the FAQs on our ILLiad site.to learn how to use interlibrary loan and find out about:

  • Possible costs
  • Types of materials that we can borrow
  • How long it might take
  • How long you can keep the items
  • How to renew
  • Borrower responsibilities and information

Questions about interlibrary loan? Please call 360-906-5000 or e-mail illiad@fvrl.org.
