What are some shortcuts I can take when searching?

You can use limiters right in the search box (with a hyphen in front of things you don't want, or quotes to limit the results to that exact word or phrase, if appropriate). Here are examples:

  • To limit the author, type AUTHOR= in front of the author name, e.g. AUTHOR=rowling
  • To limit the title, type TITLE= in front of the title name, e.g. TITLE="gone with the wind" (and note how the quotations were used to find that exact title)
  • To limit the subject, type SUBJECT= in front of the subject, e.g. -SUBJECT=marmots (but note how this searcher didn't want to find books about marmots, so they placed a hyphen before subject).
