How can I get the catalog to stop showing me items that are one or two letters off from what I'm seeking? I want what I type!

Because the catalog uses fuzzy logic, it looks to match 4-letter chunks of whatever you type. It will find bears, beard, tears, fears, etc. when you search for bears. Here's how to get around that:

  • The simplest way is to enclose your search term in quotation marks. For instance, type "bears" instead of bears and you won't get the words that are only one letter off.
  • Another way to exclude similar words from your search is to place a - (hyphen) in front of them with no space. Clean up your search by typing: bears -beard -tears -fears -pears.
