Why won't the catalog show me the specific title I know is in there?

In some cases, the title you are seeking is not that of the actual book, but of a volume of a book/series--especially for graphic novels.  When this is the case, the catalog doesn't know where to look for the terms you enter. There is something you can try if the first attempt yields no results.  Type the overall title, followed by the volume title in quotation marks.

Example: I'm reading the Batman graphic novels (The new 52!) and I want Batman Endgame.  When I look for that in the catalog it tells me it's not there.  I know it is because I've read some of the others in the series!  Here's the trick:  Batman is the title of record in the catalog.  Endgame is the specific volume title, which is listed in the table of contents of the Batman record.  The only way to successfully find this is to search for Batman "Endgame" with the quotes.  That way the catalog is able to find the title with the specific volume I want.
