The title I want is checked out. How do I place it on hold?
If all copies of a book, audiobook, DVD, or other item you wish to borrow are checked out, you may place a hold on a copy to add your name to the queue (waitlist). You can do this in our catalog or, for downloadable titles, directly in the OverDrive or RBdigital websites/apps.
To place a hold on a physical item via our catalog
Follow these instructions. Note: you will need to know your library card number (all 14 digits, no spaces) and PIN, and you'll be asked to choose a pickup location.
To place a hold on an ebook or eAudiobook via OverDrive
Follow these instructions. Note: you will need to know your OverDrive account username and password, or your library card number and PIN.
To place a hold on an eAudiobook via RBdigital
Follow these instructions:
To place an audiobook title on hold, go to the title details page and click the hold button. A success message will be displayed, along with your place in line. You can view the titles you’ve put on hold on the “Holds” page in the three-lined “Menu” icon at the top-left side of the page. For your convenience, RBdigital will automatically check out the title to your account when the title becomes available. An email stating the title is available for download will be sent to the email address you have on file. When you receive the email, you can look in your “Checked Out” items to download your selection to the RBdigital app.
Note: You will need to know the username and password you created when you set up your RBdigital account. Select library staff can look up your username for you, but to retrieve your password, you must use the Forgot Password link or contact RBdigital directly (877-77-AUDIO / 877-772-8346 or firstname.lastname@example.org) if you need assistance.
